What are half or all profit offers?
In home-based mail order businesses, "half profit offers" are a marketing strategy where the prime source (seller) offers a product or service at a price that allows the dealer to keep half or all of the profit. Here's how it typically works:
1. The Dealership (dealer): Is the person who markets advertising provided by a prime source in hopes of receiving sales and making money from various half or all profit products and services.
2. Product or Service: The prime source creates and offers a product or service that has a fixed price, that does not expire. The prime source will usually create a circular or inch ads with a blank space for the dealer to place his or her mailing address.
3. The Prime Source: This is the person who supplies and fills orders on your behalf. The prime source may offer half or all profit dealerships for free or they may also be paid.
4. Receiving Orders: The dealer, in most cases, will receive the orders from the customers first, which allows them to be paid first. It is the responsibility of the dealer to forward the remaining cash, stamps and orders to the prime source for filling.
5. Profit Split:
"Half Profit" The retail price and postage stamps is split evenly between the Dealer and the Prime Source, allowing the reseller to keep half of the profit, hence the term "half profit." We denote or offers with either an (H) or (HP), so you will know how much money and stamps to mail to the prime source.
"All Profit" The retail price is given 100% to the dealer, while the postage stamps are sent to the Prime Source to fill the orders on behalf of your customers. We denote or offers with either an (A) or (AP), so you will know how much money and stamps to mail to the prime source.
This method can be attractive to
resellers because it offers a clear, straightforward way to make money.
It’s particularly common in the sale of information products, where the
cost of production is low, and the profit margin is high. In a
home-based mail order business, this model can be used to incentivize
affiliates or resellers to promote and sell products, knowing they can
earn a significant portion of the profits.
